@profdc9 hey! Former? Are you still in the area? Could be a good time to return.

Tadd KA2DEW has been a very generous Elmer to me since I popped into a chat room he was in asking about #meshtastic and next thing you know he's sticking a Kenwood 70cm rig in my hand & recruiting me to build a #TARPN node for #NCPacket. He's been really awesome and teaching me so much.

I don't think I met Carl yet. But I've only been to 2 club gatherings so far. Just getting back into it.

* Call me Magnus! The FCC doesn't but everyone else does.
* I earned my Technician privileges before I had the time or $$ to do much with it. So I'm basically a "baby ham" in 2024.
* Giddy about projects / experiments to make our hobby more relevant & accessible to young & disadvantaged folks.

Getting back to read more about #TARPN. I really like the "no automated traffic from other networks" ideal by #NCPACKET, _except_ that I think certain telemetry should be able to flow from the ham network to the Internet for purposes of status, discoverability, and promotion. http://ncpacket.net/north_carolina_packet_radio_network.html #hamradio #meshnetwork
