The entire Angeles National Forest is temporarily closed for public safety and the protection of natural resources from today, January 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. through Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12:00 midnight. The closure order and prohibited activities may be found at this link.
Do not drink water in the evacuated areas. Debris and elevated turbidity from the Eaton Fire potentially impacted Pasadena Water and Power’s (PWP) drinking water system in the Eaton Fire evacuated areas.

Zones LAC-165-B and LAC-168-A are now under an evacuation order. This change may be viewed on the Watch Duty map or the Genasys Protect site.
The fire has made it up to Mt. Wilson proper, per air attack, with smoke blowing to the interior. There is a spot fire of about a half acre to one acre. Ground crews are engaged.

SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, COLORADO - San Miguel County Search and Rescue assisted Dolores County on Tuesday and Wednesday in the search for an overdue climber missing on the El Diente - Mount Wilson Ridge, approximately 20 miles southwest of Telluride. The 21-year-old experienced hiker from Arizona was located deceased after an extensive search operation that included aviation assets from three different agencies.The climber, who had been navigating a challenging section of the traverse, fell approximately 800 vertical feet into the upper Kilpacker Basin.
