Southern Californians are a different breed
I'm visiting some family for the weekend, and we visited an aquarium. As I was walking back from the aquarium to the car, I saw a steady stream of people in rave gear walking past. I was curious, so I stopped one and asked where they were going and if there was a cover charge. They told me the name of the event and that the ticket price was over $100.
I looked it up online. It was a two-day event. One single-day, non-VIP ticket was $200. Maybe there was an early bird discount, but still.
I was waiting for a family member to wrap up volunteering, and during the 15 or 20 minutes I was there, the stream of ravers never stopped. There were hundreds of them, easily. The parking structure they were walking from was over a mile from the venue.
$200 for one dance floor and night of fun. HUNDREDS of people.
My NorCal mind cannot comprehend this.
