The #MokraniRevolt began on #ThisDayInHistory in 1871, and proved one of the most significant episodes of resistance in #FrenchAlgeria. The #Kabylie region suffered with suppression of it: 450,000 hectares were given to French colonists & thousands were deported to #NewCaledonia.
