I was hauling some potting soil and garden tools the other day and left the back hatch to the SUV open all afternoon. When I came back outside later that day, I found Miss Pumpkin in the front passenger seat, settled in. Not sure if she was trying to start a nest or just wanted to hang out in my space. She’s a weird bird. I adopted her from a posting online giving her away- she was hand raised by a woman a few towns over and imprinted on people, so she always wants to be where we are, and often waits by the doors to the house hoping we will let her inside. She’s very sweet, has raised a few batches of babies, and will let you pick her up and carry her around. She’s petite and her coloring looks like she might be a heritage sweetgrass turkey, but I think she’s just a barnyard mix. I love her, and she’s getting older now, and needs help down from the roost sometimes. ❤️ #Vermont #turkeys #birds #cute #farm #MissPumpkin
