Patrick Christys is tearing into Labour's "new" migrant deal, and looking at the reporting, you can see why people feel sceptical.
The UK has reportedly agreed a two-month extension with France worth about £16.2m, while negotiations on a larger long-term replacement remain deadlocked. In other words, this looks less like a bold breakthrough and more like another short-term patch on top of the existing arrangement.
That is the real issue here. Not just the migration policy itself, but the gap between political presentation and political reality. If the public is being told this is a "new" answer, while the underlying argument is still the same money, same pressure, same unresolved system, frustration is inevitable.

Is this a real reset, or just old policy dressed up as something new?
