Does anyone know if Snapper cards offer a refund for used cards? E.g. in the UK, the equivalent system (Oyster) your card purchase price is actually a deposit, which is refunded if you return the card.

The wording on the Snapper site says "buy" and also says its an RRP, so you might be charged more than that. So I'm guessing not... but thought I would check before massively adding to e-waste & single use plastic pollution.

Turns out that in the latest #MetlinkWGTN price hike, they've fixed the #Snapper penalty fare SNAFU that meant I could save 10% by "forgetting to tag off".

Bugger

I moan copiously about #MetlinkWGTN when they (invariably) balls up and charge me a fortune for exceedingly sub-par service, so I guess I should also comment when they do well - just for balance.

So, I don't want to jinx it but I think I'm about to complete trip #10 without any delays, cancellations, or shortened trains due to staff shortages?

"Yay! I'm getting the service I pay nearly $500 a month for the privilege of using!" I guess?

Special shout out to #metlinkwgtn - cancelling a loads of buses in the morning when students are trying to get to school for exams is a real classy move!

Another morning, another bus coming 2+ minutes early this time the 56 from Jville to the CBD. So another 20 minute wait or going back home.
I complained several times already and got 'Oh, so sorry, we remind the drivers not to leave early '. Clearly doesn't work. Maybe I order a taxi or Uber and invoice Metlink?

Oh dear - cautiously waiting to see how metlinkwgtn's timetables return to normal next month - it appears as we return to normal timetables, we return to normal number of cancellations too.

Hopefully things will improve over coming weeks 🤞
