Today's #sewing lesson, basting glue seems like a good idea but it fucks up my sewing machine. Hand basting is slower but produces the best results.

I finally brought my sewing machine upstairs to my new cave. This is just a short line of stitching where my underwear seam started to come apart, but it's the first thing I've sewed in months and it feels great.
Well! I did do some mending today. It’s not worth a photograph, but I cut the bottom button off of a shirt and sewed it in place in the chest-high spot that needed a replacement button. So now I can wear that shirt again, yay. (I might try finding a replacement bottom button, but it’s not critical.)
I'm starching my petticoat right now.
I let in soak in water with starch, currently the washing machine spins it, then it will be ironed. I hope this works well and 800 rpm are not too much to remove the starch too.
I finally felt good enough at darning to fix the sweater I want to keep wearing to work. Definitely good enough for the armpits! There's another hole I haven't dealt with yet in a more conspicuous spot on the front.
