Happy #Caturday! Please welcome my new foster cat, Buster!

I picked Buster up on Tuesday so that he could stay someplace quiet while waiting to be adopted - he doesn't do well with transitions & was overwhelmed and freaking out in the shelter. We're still getting to know each other but it's clear he likes people, even if he doesn't trust them right away. He tolerated me grabbing him & picking him up earlier today so that means he gets living room privileges, which he DESPERATELY wanted, his entire walnut brain for the past 48 hours has been devoted to the puzzle of my office door.

New couch! It had a big hole in the upholstery from the previous owner's cat. I made a little packet stuffed with fabric scraps to fill in for some of the missing foam, overlaid that with a scrap of quilt batting, and sewed on a patch.

The actual structural parts of the couch are in way better shape than our previous one so this is a huge upgrade.

This orange cat took a break from its argument with a different, floofier orange cat, to come over for pets. The floofy cat hid under a porch while I petted, then they went back to yowling at each other. Important cat conflict.

I was initially disappointed that I couldn't find true P. somniferum poppies without frilly petals, but these are starting to grow on me.

I just picked up a haul from someone on Buy Nothing who was de-stashing their sewing notions. I think I recognize this unopened vintage package of twill tape from when I de-stashed to Buy Nothing after inheriting a bunch of my grandmother's stuff. Circle of life 🎶

Also, what does one do with ribbon? I keep acquiring it like this. Every so oftem I use it as the drawstring for a gift bag but mostly it just sits there, looking pretty but useless. #sewing

The whole entire animal kingdom is disgusting, name me one animal that isn't gross.
