Today's birds on campus are decidedly spring-themed.

We have a trio of Pied Currawong fledglings.
A parent Masked Lapwing dutifully sitting on eggs.
A Grey Butcherbird fledgling excitedly calling for food as its parent turns up to feed it.
And not following the theme, a Buff-banded Rail on the edge of the lake.

Campus birds from the past couple of days.

Of the two Masked Lapwing chicks I found a couple of weeks back, it seems only one remains, but it's healthy looking and foraging for itself.

I also came across a couple of disapproving Bush Stone-Curlews, and this morning, a Pacific Black Duck, perched on a rock in the lake, absorbing the morning sun.
