Some of my regular birds at home this morning.
One of the pair of Pied Currawongs that get sultanas from the back veranda.
The female King Parrot, stopping by to see if I've put seed out (I had).
And a Lewin's Honeyeater, in the vines on the Cocos Palm about to check out the fruit (out of frame above it).

Low clouds this morning in the mountains, bit that didn't stop a collection of birds turning up as soon as I stepped on the veranda.
They wanted food, but I don't have any.
Also, look how wide a kookaburra can open its beak!

We had some hopeful visitors this afternoon. They were looking for free food, but we didn't have anything appropriate (bugs, skinks, small snakes).
A Juvenile #AustralianMagpie.
A #LaughingKookaburra (who was not laughing)
and a #PiedCurrawong
Damp birds in my backyard.
One of the pair of Pied Currawongs that hang around for treats (the occasional sultana), and a Lewin's Honeyeater who had clearly popped down to the creek for a bath.

Today's birds on campus are decidedly spring-themed.
We have a trio of Pied Currawong fledglings.
A parent Masked Lapwing dutifully sitting on eggs.
A Grey Butcherbird fledgling excitedly calling for food as its parent turns up to feed it.
And not following the theme, a Buff-banded Rail on the edge of the lake.

One of my regular Pied Currawongs stopping by for a cheeky sultana.
My local Currawongs do love an apple core.
