The #MarshallPlan, ending #ThisDayInHistory in 1951, was not an altruistic effort to rebuild #Europe after #WWII. It worked to hamper #socialism (it forced recipients to weaken #unions & push leftists from coalitions) and to enrich US corporations (most aid was spent in the US).
