Last night I lured Prince up the Scary Stairs to the loft when I went to bed. I expected to find her in bed with me when I woke up, but I did not.
I also expected coaxing her downstairs again in the morning would be easier than it was last two times I convinced her to come upstairs. It was not.
It took almost an hour, a fistful of treats, and ultimately a bowl of dog food, but we did escape from the loft in the end!
Got home late today, it was already dark, so no ball time for Ms Thing… some chew treats and extra chair time seem to have made up for it though.

This thread will never end. 😂 Today I bring you more photos of dogs being close to each other, and also my finger on its first naked day since Prince came home. 
Picked up a clicker and a treat bag yesterday. Going to dig around the house to see if I can find any of my old agility equipment… she definitely needs more to do than just chasing balls up the driveway.

More dog updates! She is getting into the “kennel is not a terrible place” routine, and the “I don’t have to paw incessantly at my head when I have the muzzle on” routine. She also continues to find creative ways to fit herself between my chair & ottoman, always on top of one of my feet.
I’m thinking this coming weekend may be a good time to try Round 2 of “dogs loose together with me in the general area,” but with the muzzle this time.
We’re still not to the point of letting all the dogs hang out together, but a couple of one-on-one encounters with Jack the Marshmallow have not resulted in any teeth contact, so I remain hopeful!
I am working on introducing Princess to the joys of Giant Stick Tug-O-War… I think it’s safe to say she did not grow up playing tug, but I had a feeling she wouldn’t be able to resist. 
We were hanging out peacefully, she was lounging in the mud, I was noodling on my phone, then she got up and looked at me like she was expecting something…
…I think I guessed what it was correctly!

2. Is it common for #malinois to be spooked by stairs they can see through? It took me the better part of an hour to coax the girl up & back down the (normal but unfinished) stairs to our loft today. She was very disturbed that she could see between the treads.
My last MalX girl was spooked by similar stairs years ago. All my other dogs have been more willing to believe me when I said weird stairs were OK. 😂

Today we went for a nice long car ride, and she revealed herself to be a terrible copilot. Pacing in a small Nissan truck cab is not easy, but she is bendy enough to do it. 
Then the husband & I cleaned the woodstove and chimney under the watchful eye of the new Maintenance Supervisor.
