9. Eventually the end of the very expensive wire poked through the outside of the house, and I pulled out the predetermined 7'. Then I went to the basement and waited for my truly amazing partner to re-emerge from the crawlspace, which took 30 minutes because of the absurd route he had to take around ducts, pipes, conduits, and a freaking tree stump (yes).

7. More #McGuyver stuff, while the very expensive 240v wire and the 240v outlet were connected, and the wire stuffed in the old #Gas line hole in the floor.

8. A tyvek suit and n95 mask were donned, walkie talkies switched on, goodbye kisses kissed. McGuyver piled tools onto a plastic sled and ventured into the terrifying #crawlspace and I watched #DavidsonBasketball (we lost by 1)

* one doohickey to cap the old 110v outlet that the nasty stinky #Gas #range had plugged in to
* one thingy for the breaker box
* some white 6-gauge neutral wire
* another thingy for the breaker box for the neutral wire to connect to
* probably a new tool of some sort, based on past experience

A lot of head scratching ensued while we (my handy partner) tried to make sense of the multiple electrical control panels, installed over 80 years by ppl with widely varying levels of skill, and planned his first (and thus far only) trip to the hardware store to purchase...

...(We had wanted to save the old #GasLine (🤷‍♀️) but opted to cut it with tin snips (not "ten snips," as I first thought, confused as to how we could be so prescriptive about it) instead).
6. After we pulled the snipped gas line out, we happily realized the hole in the floor (for the gas line) was big enough to fit our very expensive 240v wire, and paused a bit to make another pot of #coffee and celebrate
