Habe jetzt auf dem Mac mal #parakeet CLI installiert für schnelle Transkriptionen und KI-basierte Dokumentationen (als GUI verwende ich #MacWhisper). Erster Test mit 30 Minuten Podcast-Audio (https://podcasts.cogneon.io/@datevlernt/episodes/dr-verena-mayer-uber-klassismus-fremd-in-der-burgerlichen-arbeitswelt) ergab ca. Faktor 30 (Transkription in ca. 50 Sekunden fertig).

Spätestens mit diesem Akt ist Klassismus in der Arbeitswelt als Herausforderung etabliert, der wir uns annehmen müssen. Wie passend, dass wir erst mit einer waschechten Klassismus-Expertin gesprochen haben: Dr. Verena Mayer vom Ausweg Rhein Neckar e. V. vertritt und berät von Klassismus betroffene Menschen. Sie erklärt im Gespräch, wo die Herausforderungen liegen, und kann dabei als Arbeiter:innenkind aus eigener Erfahrung sprechen.

@blakespot i was thinking recently if they allow something like #macwhisper to takeower the voice recognition and execute shortcuts(the native app), it would be much more useful than Siri.

#MacWhisper testing.

I’m batching 1 year of podcasts (approx 52 episodes/1hr each) at a time on my two Apple Silicon Macs.

Using same model, M1 Mac takes 25 hours. While M2 Mac takes 9 hours.

I think I’m very jealous of people with M5 Macs.

I’m really impressed with MacWhisper by @jordibruin. I used it to transcribe last night’s class. Even with Parallels VM and Xcode open it handled large files smoothly on my M2 MacBook Air with 16 GB RAM. #MacWhisper #AI #Productivity #MacBookAir

Bei #MacWhisper habe ich ein Modell parkeet v3 mit 1GB und eines mit knapp 500MB. Weiß jemand, was da der Unterschied ist, in der Beschreibung steht nichts? Quantisierung vielleicht? 🤔

Whisper Transcription for iOS (from the people who brought us #MacWhisper, i.e. @jordibruin):

The local model (Nvidia Parakeet v3?) is so, so good. Multi-lingual voice transcriptions are the bomb. I ramble in German but talk English when thinking code & low-level project planning stuff – I'm weird, yes, but my point is: It works great.

Heads-up, the "sub now" is a bit in your face during setup but is fully skippable. Local model use is free.
