@AF0AJ for the most part I’ve been able to get pretty much everything I want running on my m1 mbp. But there’s a fair bit of hand compiling and some small porting. MacPorts has a decent range of ports, that helps. I have an old intel mbp that dual boots into Linux for the rest.

I avoid most windows ham software as it’s rarely open source and I’d rather not be tied into someone’s proprietary code, like Vara. #machamradio

Alright, packaged up as homebrew recipes now. Feel free to give them a spin:

Tiny #HamRadio project today: Got wfview going from my linux radio-attached machine to my MacBook, over @tailscale of course.

~100ms rx latency could be a bit better, but I'll take it for now.

Ended up compiling for both machines from source. On Ubuntu due to the packaged version being old, on MacOS because there is no packaged version. I guess I should look into adding it to Homebrew.

@k2za request: make your hashtags CamelCase. So #MacHamRadio instead of #machamradio. Searching is case insensitive, and screen readers will split it on capitalization and read it correctly for people who can’t read it visually.
@nall @KB3LYB Let us know how it goes. What radio are you connecting? I tried it on my TH-D74 using USB cable, but had trouble getting ax.25 to work on MacOS (at least at that time). Was able to get serial port message to a terminal at least. #MacHamRadio
