❗ The ranking varies between
👉 the main report of the Mobility and Transport Microcensus published in 2023
👉 the new DETEC publication 2024 (albeit with the title "Summary of the results of the #MTMC21 main report").

The improvement in road traffic is
👉 in 4th place in the 1st report
👉 in 2nd place in the 2nd report
Does Albert "Rösti's whitewashing authority", as Republik magazine @science recently titled about a report on biodiversity (https://www.republik.ch/2024/05/06/roestis-beschoenigungsbehoerde), have anything to do with it? 🤷🤔

The area "improving road traffic" highly polarises: People are either
- very 👍 or
- very 👎?

Preferences for transport policy measures in 🇨🇭 :
👉 Road: Mobility/peak pricing perceived more negatively than general price increase
👉 The opposite for public transport #PT: people dislike both, but a general increase of tickets/subscriptions even more
👉 The money collected on the road should finance PT in priority
👉 The increase in the ticket and subscriptions should finance regional trains in priority

Very happy to chair a session at the Swiss Transport Research Conference #STRC24 next week on transport policy. Very interesting topics:
👉early-planning support framework for predicting infrastructure development
👉highway planning considering land-use
👉preference for transport policy measures in Switzerland, the still unpublished analysis of the questions regarding policy opinions in the Mobility and Transport Microcensus 2021! #MTMC21
