I'm trying to choose my concerts for next season and uh... there are way too many.
I've flagged my "short list" and it's still way more than I have the budget (or spoons) to attend. Currently trying to narrow it down further.
It's time to pick which concerts I want to go to for the next MN Orchestra season...
I'm starting with a list of everything I'm interested in. My initial "short" list is 15.
Which is entirely too many both for money reasons and for energy/spoons reasons.
Gonna have to narrow this down somehow...
JoeExcellent show this last weekend at the #MNOrchestra. This was my first concert that I've seen here with an accompanying choir and it sounded amazing!
So Beethoven's 9th in person is amazeballs.
If you live in/near a city with a decent orchestra and they do Beethoven's 9th (particularly with a full chorus)...
GO SEE IT!
Going to the Orchestra tonight...
In the skyway between the parking garage and orchestra hall I passed a group of half a dozen people in matching purple track suits. REALLY curious what that was about.
Also, the woman sitting next to me just insisted to her friend that the romantic period did not come after Beethoven. Very odd.
I'm having an orchestra night.
I couldn't get a good angle on both but tonight before the concert itself there was a (very good!) youth orchestra on the mezzanine and a #Lego play area on the first balcony level.
Ohmigoodness. The English horn in the 2nd movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony was just... transcendent. So incredibly gorgeous.
Orchestra night!
I left home early in case the roads were bad. The roads were fine so I'm in right when the doors opened. Pretty quiet, but it'll pick up soon!
Shaw, Haydn, and Dvorak tonight.
