I'm having an orchestra night.
I couldn't get a good angle on both but tonight before the concert itself there was a (very good!) youth orchestra on the mezzanine and a #Lego play area on the first balcony level.

Ohmigoodness. The English horn in the 2nd movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony was just... transcendent. So incredibly gorgeous.
Orchestra night!
I left home early in case the roads were bad. The roads were fine so I'm in right when the doors opened. Pretty quiet, but it'll pick up soon!
Shaw, Haydn, and Dvorak tonight.
(eta hashtags, whoops!)
Listening to a set of Beethoven's symphonies that I just converted to make sure they all ripped properly.
I'm on the last movement of the 9th and feeling a bit overcome and then I remembered that I have tickets to see it live in March. And I am beyond excited to be surrounded by that piece in all its glory.
Intermission...
The Britten was unsettling (in a good? way), really affecting. Made me cry a bit.
The Clyne was lovely in spots but mostly too experimental for me. It did have a few spots that I REALLY want to see the notation for!
But then we got a wonderful little Debussy piece for the encore. Yay!
Beethoven after the intermission.
I'm having an eventful weekend! Yesterday was Sarah Millican, today is Orchestra. (Britten, Clyne, and Beethoven's 5th).
Time for a new orchestra season!
My back has definitely hit the "you have been standing entirely too much today" point. So I am very slowly eating my egg roll.
I just have to make it to 1 cuz at 1 there's a #MNOrchestra & Evren Otzel thing happening and that'll all be sitting.
