This week for Mutants in the Next, I've got a full reveal of species that'll be in the book, as well as some BackerKit housekeeping to handle as we move towards the first draft release.

Today on Kickstarter for Mutants in the Next, it's time for a year-end report on the project's progress. Take a look on how far we've come this year!
Mutants in the Next is text-complete. What does that mean? Well, that means I have a rough draft that I'm presently going over before delivering the preview and putting it over to the editor. Barring a few elements like chapter intros and decorative elements, as well as major corrections, all the words that go in are finished, if not final. Right now I'm working in layout to ensure I have a good idea of what fits and what doesn't, and once my internal editing is complete, it'll be time for the preview document. I'll have more to reveal when it releases, but I'm itching to just get back to work on it. Backerkit Locking Down on February 15th Once again, payment surveys will be locking down on February 15th. If you need to update your order, address, or payment information, that's the deadline for it. If you have any issues or questions, feel free to reach out to me. This also goes out to the roughly two dozen folks that haven't finished your surveys. Thanks to those who filled things out since the last call! If you need to make changes or adjustments, now's the time to do it. An Award from The Awards Faith & Sails, a small two-page effort I did for a jam last year, won an Award from The Awards this year as part of twenty cool projects that they chose to highlight as exceptional. There's a lot of fantastic projects this year, and I'm honored to have been chosen by their judges' panel! Give the little game a look, it was a fun bit to cook up! Open Gaming License I'm glad we don't have to worry about all that D&Drama, and my sympathies go out to those who do. Right now the system reference for Mutants in the Now is still up in the air, but I'll be keeping an eye on other industry efforts like ORC and evaluating whether or any those fit the needs of my project, or whether an existing framework like Creative Commons will fit it. The devil's literally in the details when it comes to these things. Thanks to everyone for your backing and support, stay safe, and see you again shortly!
Time for rolls on Mutants in the Next's Species Sampler...
... and the final roll of 82 is a Brown Rat from Mutants in the Now, which can fend others off as a "Cornered Rat"!
