For this week's #ArtAdventCalendar, in honour of the publication this year of my book "Dreams of Amarna", a sequence of Egyptological pieces..
This is my reimagining of the fragment of faience tile that inspired Mary Chubb's desire to visit Egypt, and thus started my on my embroidered response to her tales.
I really think that this is going to work. It works better from further away, and I still need to work out how to mount the gauze and whether I need to tweak what I put on them.
But here is Nefertiti, hovering in imagination over the excavation of the city her husband built.
