This year not only marks the 30th anniversary of #Civilisation2, but also the 25th anniversary of the #Longturn community.

On February 4, 2001, the very first Longturn #Freeciv game started. A quarter-century later, we are still here, growing our empires with a pace that fits our busy life: one turn per day.

Whether you're a veteran 4X gamer or a curious newcomer, we invite you to join us at https://longturn.net

The #Longturn community will be starting their next game soon, and you're invited to participate!

Longturn is a version of #Freeciv specifically adjusted for multiplayer games. You play 1 turn per game, with a bigger group of people, until again one of you dominates the planet.

The next game will start in a couple of weeks, when enough players have been found. If you're interested, then check our thread here https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/new-longturn-game-for-civilization-2-fans-and-experts.699622/ with all the details, as well as the Longturn website https://longturn.net/ !

The first #Longturn game using the new ruleset "Rules of Chaos" has just been announced[1]. The creator describes it as follows:

"The goal of Chaos is to try out completely unrealistic, totally insane ideas, and see how much fun we can have in the ensuing chaos. It is a game-mode where anything can happen for no reason. It will not be fair, it will not be balanced, and it will not be predictable. This is not one for the faint of heart, you have been warned! "
