The #Longturn community will be starting their next game soon, and you're invited to participate!
Longturn is a version of #Freeciv specifically adjusted for multiplayer games. You play 1 turn per game, with a bigger group of people, until again one of you dominates the planet.
The next game will start in a couple of weeks, when enough players have been found. The 52nd issue of the Finnish magazine @saku, released today, contains a 17-page story about #Suomipeli2024, a #Freeciv21 longturn game hosted by the #Longturn community during the winter season.
Starting on page 47, the story recounts how the game was played from start to finish from the perspective of three different players.
If you can read Finnish, check it out! Thanks to the Saku Team for covering this event.
Good news for all #OpenBSD users: #Freeciv21 is now available as games/freeciv21 in the OpenBSD ports tree.

The first #Longturn game using the new ruleset "Rules of Chaos" has just been announced[1]. The creator describes it as follows:
"The goal of Chaos is to try out completely unrealistic, totally insane ideas, and see how much fun we can have in the ensuing chaos. It is a game-mode where anything can happen for no reason. It will not be fair, it will not be balanced, and it will not be predictable. This is not one for the faint of heart, you have been warned! "
