Saw Iron Maiden last night, which was awesome.
Back in the day, I'd breathlessly grab the newspaper the morning after a concert and read the reviews in the entertainment section.
I can't do that anymore.
CBC, Global, CTV, the Calgary Herald, The Sun, none of 'em do concert reviews online.
It's kind of a shame. The internet has helped make media LESS local and LESS responsive than a daily newspaper in the 1980s.
My local paper, The Press Democrat, ran a story about local teens at a Subway who were not paid, tips stolen, forced to use dangerous equipment and work alone at night.
The US Dept of Labor took an interest and now the franchise owner is in deep trouble for the labor violations.
