While we were busy being completely laid out with *mild* #COVID19 most of last month, we missed the registration windows for spring #soccer and all the good #summercamps.
To say the kid is displeased with us is a vast understatement. To say we're disappointed for her is also an understatement. Basically it sucks all around.
#LiveWithCovid is a thoughtless, heartless, stupid strategy with actual consequences for actual humans.
#CovidIsNotOver and we can't pretend it is.
So our school system's already-decimated pool of bus drivers has been further reduced by a #COVID cluster, according to an email that just went out.
Kids are stuck at schools all across the district.

Cool thing you might not know about #LivingWithCovid is how it can unexpectedly disrupt your work and family life for weeks, and then you get to spend several more weeks attempting to catch up but really you're falling further behind because guess what you actually have to recover from being sick with COVID, too.

I'm on Day 9 w/ #COVID, just starting to feel like myself again. I'm otherwise healthy, fully #vaccinated, & privileged w/ a job that's let me lay low.
#CDC's #LiveWithCovid messaging tries to make us think we'll all be cool after 5 days, so it's NBD if we get this 1.4 times a year.
I've lost 2 weekends & 7 work days so far. 1.4 infections a year means giving up 3 weekends & 2 full work weeks *every year*? That's a LOT to ask.

Like, actually been directly responsible for keeping themselves and others alive.
