"Bei Windows ist es in Unternehmen üblich, dass die Geräte bei einem Betriebssystemupgrade (z.B. das bald anstehende von Windows 10 auf 11) ausgemustert und ausgetauscht werden. Dafür muss jeder Mitarbeiter bei der IT ein neues Gerät abholen – inklusive Einrichtung sowie möglicher Probleme. So etwas ist aufwändig und teuer – insbesondere, wenn wir nicht von nur ein paar hundert oder tausend Geräten sprechen, sondern im Falle von Google über 100.000 mit Goobuntu – weltweit verteilt.
Da Ubuntu auf Debian aufbaut, gibt es einen viel besseren Weg: Ein In-Place Upgrade. Das laufende System wird von Ubuntu zu Debian umgestellt. Anfang 2019 wurden die letzten Goobuntu-Systeme migriert, alle laufen seit dem auf gLinux.

Ist gLinux ein Erfolg?

Der Wartungsaufwand konnte mit gLinux erheblich reduziert werden: Mehrstufige Testphasen mit diversen Alpha- Beta und GA-Versionen sind entfallen. Eine Person reicht für die wöchentlichen Aktualisierungen aus, der Stress ist zusammen mit dem Arbeitspensum stark gesunken. Parallel haben verbesserte Tests, mehr Automatisierung und der neuere Kernel von Debian Testing gegenüber Ubuntu LTS zu stabileren Systemen geführt."

@k_purpose I run manjaro on mine and with the initial unload of the b43 and bcma modules and loading the wl driver it works just fine.

What's really odd is that the broadcom-wl driver *is* on the installer but it pulls in the b43 module instead!

glad you've got a linux distro on there. I love how Linux gives life to hardware apple have abandoned and crippled with the last supported release of OSX for that device. Apple hardware is great but at a premium.

Umstieg von Exim.
So, #postfix ist jetzt fit. blacklist_recipients ist eine Datei mit verbrannten Mailadressen, die nach dem Greylister dran ist, aber vor den rdnsbl. Keep the Spamer busy :) #HrrrHrrrHrrr
Dann sollte jetzt fast nix mehr durchkommen, die rdnsbls sind ja ein externer Service. Was ich lokal schon abschiessen kann, muss die nicht mehr kümmern.
Seit 2020-03-11-23:14 sind nur 7 Hundsschisse durchgekommen, alle an verbrannte Mailaddies. Das hat jetzt ne Ente.

Kommt $KUMPEL an, Festplatte (Linux) irngwie karpott, liess sich am PC von $ANDERERKUMPEL nicht auslesen.
Ööööhm...ext4fs...wär mir neu, dass Windows das kann.
Naja. Anstecken (intern), Datenträgersymbol liegt auf dem Desktop, USBdrive auf ext4 gesetzt und rsync...
