@freedomofpress I'm just glad that #LibelTourism and #SueHappy culture doesn't exist in my juristiction and that every #claim of #damages has to be evidenced.
@lehtimaeki this #LibelTourism-Style #litigation should be illegal!

@CppGuy nodds in agreement

Aside from that: what else do people expect from the juristiction knoen for "#LibelTourism" ?

@Aurelianite This alone should be scrapped in appeals, because it's #VictimBlaming and could be used in any criminal case to counter-sue victims i.e. going to the police to report the domestic abuse a neighbour inflictsbupon their spouse is also "damaging reputation"...

By that logic anyone could do #LibelTourism...

@yassie_j I'd pit this as #NotLegalAdvice since the #UK cracked down on "#LibelTourism"...

@ben @aendra at this point I'm woundering when courts will affirm this fact and side with the company.

Just like people can't do #LibelTourism from Germany despite #SLAPP|ings against competitiors are highly profitable here...

I've removed #nobot from my bio. I don't like the precedent it sets, that users must proactively have a magic hashtag in their bios, which uses up characters and isn't guaranteed to actually do much of anything because we're reliant on the good graces of developers to follow the magic hashtag rules. Why do I owe it to developers to let their software consume my posts? Nah, fuck that. I will file *endless* GDPR Subject Access Requests any time a bot indexes my content without my consent, then file a GDPR Right To Be Forgotten request after I have that data. I will publish everything those services holds on me, so that others can see the depths of their data collection. I will write tools that lets other users do the same with minimal effort. If the services don't respond to our requests, we involve the ICO. Time to use those sharp teeth that international law has evolved us into having.
