You made me cry!! That's a heck of a scene near the end there. And you really earned it. Thank you for something warm about people trying to do well. I need that.
If I may ask, what neighborhood did you imagine them living in in San Francisco? I lived in the Castro and then the Mission around when Jamie was born.

Errata: I know an enby Ro who is Ro's approximate age, though very different (less econ. more circus arts)

While I was on a trip over the weekend, I finished reading a review copy of Lessons in Magic and Disaster by Charlie Jane Anders.
I really liked it, especially the messy ways all the relationships got into how history rhymes if it doesn't repeat itself.

I’ve really enjoyed reading works by Charlie Jane Anders in the past. I first came across her work in around 2010 as io9 gave me a view into what I should be reading as I got back into science fiction as a reader. I also really enjoyed Anders’ All the Birds in the Sky around the same time. So I was really excited when Tor Books approved me to get a copy of Anders’ latest book Lessons in Magic and Disaster through Netgalley.
