My issues with #DnD go all the way back to 1974, most importantly the class-based PC development system and the Vancian magic system, both of which I detest as limiting and illogical. Neither #DnD5E14 nor #DnD5E24 change these.
There are definitely better ways to do these, for someone like me who falls squarely in the RP (roleplaying) camp, as opposed to the G (gaming) camp of #RPGs.
I've preferred skills-based systems at least since discovering #LegendMUD in the 90s.
