Tall leek orchids (Prasophyllum elatum) near Mallacoota, VIC. Good numbers of these striking black-stemmed forms out in early spring this year at several locations - most flower spikes at this spot were 60-70cm tall. Forms with green stems and more yellow/green flowers also occur nearby.

This is the largest leek orchid found in VIC and can grow to 1.5m tall. As with all leek orchids the flowers are 'up-side down' with the labellum pointing up at the top of the flower rather than pointing down at the bottom.
