I Was Inspired By Her Piano Technique – A Journey

From my previous post – “During 2022 I found a most wonderful teacher on-line. She spoke of the need to strengthen the fingers and hands with good technique. I was inspired.”

Yes, I was inspired and so I joined her on-line platform. I adored her as a person, and as a teacher. The problem being, though, I couldn’t do as she taught – my hands and forearms rebelled. I was impatient – I just had to wait. In the meantime my beloved spirit friends, The Collective Consciousness (The C.C.) continued to caution me to beware and, most importantly of all – to continue to be patient.

I had bought myself a beginner’s piano instruction book. The lessons were/are very simple to understand and allowed/allow me to, at least, continue to learn. I had/have no option but to go slow. However, just sitting in front of my beautiful piano brought/brings me great joy as I painstakingly began (and continue) the process of learning more and more, the language of music.

Now, some four years later, I still sit slowly and gently before the keys – thoroughly enjoying the sounds that come forth.

For me it has never been a matter of accomplishment; it has been a matter of enjoyment and learning. For this I am truly grateful. Were I to be impatient to progress I’m sure I would have injured myself to the point of no return. Not the case! Just remembering how to read a script (a very easy script) is love enough.

Recently, I found another teacher on-line. She not only has many free videos, her experience is one that suffered tendonitis as a budding concert pianist. Years of re-learning to play in a wholistic healthful manner became her healing. As such her compassion and empathy is evident as she gently draws you into the knowledge of how good technique can prevent such injuries, or assist their healing.

I haven’t, as yet, become a member. I am hoping to in time…
