Daily reminder that "Learning Styles" do not exist and are not helpful for teaching and learning! This is the topic of our #LearningAssistant class today at CU Denver.

Let's all please stop using the term "learning styles." It's pseudo - learning science

I recently got accepted to be an LA, #learningassistant #teacherassistant for my university next semester! I am so excited to help the amazing faculty, help foster a community in class, help teach students, and I am especially excited for this huge step towards graduate school. I usually feel awkward posting my accomplishments but this is just too exciting!

I taught the last #LearningAssistant pedagogy course season of the semester last night. I always love teaching that class. Our LAs are such awesome and inspirational students.

#Introduction / hashtag dump. I'm an associate #professor of science education at the University of #Colorado Denver. My areas of interest and expertise are #peerlearning, #learningassistant model, #physicseducation, #teachereducation, and #researchmethods (#quantitative).

I also work in #wildlandfire #communications in the summer, and I'm on an #IMT in the Rocky Mt Region. I'm a COMT, INCM, RADO, and FFT2. I also work on our local #Boulder County, CO Type3 IMT.
