Minister Nordio drowned out by whistles from fans at the Maradona stadium: his intervention before “The Night of the Lions.”
Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio was drowned out by whistles at the Maradona Stadium in Naples before the “Night of the Lions” event, a friendly match between former Napoli legends that took place Tuesday evening. The charitable initiative was sponsored by the Ministry of Justice: the money raised from ticket sales and donations is in fact allocated to the Minor Penal Institution of Nisida and the projects of the Santobono Pausilipon Foundation.
Therefore, Minister Nordio was present at the stadium. His intervention to promote the initiative before the match – broadcast live on Dazn – was practically unheard. As soon as his image appeared on the giant screen, whistles erupted from the stands (approximately 47,000 spectators). The fans’ protest was harsh, despite the festive atmosphere. The match featured many idols of past Napoli: from Mertens, Insegne and Lavezzi to Careca, Ciro Ferrara, Zola, Alemao and Ruud Krool. For the record, the match between Napoli Legends and Resto del Mondo ended 8 to 7.
