Roma, 10 mag. - (Adnkronos) - La pioggia mattutina su Roma non ha fermato l'onda rosa della ‘Race for the cure' promossa dalla Komen Italia. Al nastro di partenza 200mila presenze tra famiglie, giovani e meno giovani e migliaia di palloncini rosa, il colore della Race for the cure che da 27 anni unisce sport e prevenzione contro il tumore al seno. I donatori di questa edizione sono stati 120mila. Alla partenza questa mattina la first lady l'avvocato Laura Mattarella e il sindaco di Roma Roberto Gualtieri. “La Race for the cure è un evento straordinario - ha spiegato Gualtieri - C'è un impegno per la prevenzione, per la vita. Il clima che si respira qui è straordinario” “C'è una adesione bellissima che ci commuove - ha detto Alba Di Leone, senologia e presidente Komen Italia - la Race for the cure è una manifestazione dove ognuno trova il suo posto, c'è il posto per le famiglie, per gli operatori sanitari, per le società scientifiche, per le donne che affrontano la malattia e per chi vuole prendersi cura del proprio corpo. Dobbiamo - ha aggiunto - stringerci come società per raggiungere obiettivi migliori. Stare accanto a chi affronta la malattia. C'è ancora paura di fare i controlli, si rimanda la mammografia, ma serve occuparci di noi e fare del bene a chi ci sta vicino. Serve una presa di coscienza collettiva”.
