Did you know that worldwide, about one in three children have dangerously high levels of lead in their blood (*), with negative effects on cognitive development and various health risks? Perhaps not, because the problem is entirely avoidable, as demonstrated by most Western countries that have in fact eliminated lead from products like paint and gasoline.

To raise awareness for this issue, I'm joining the LOOOP action on October 12 to walk 10km from Maarssen to Utrecht (**).
