After going to (and very much enjoying) the #LAAutoShow, I feel like a rough paraphrase of an old trope applies:

“Psychotics design modern luxury cars. Neurotics drive them.”

I went to the #LAAutoShow and was surprised a #CorvetteC8 was open to sit in with no one waiting. I got in and closed the door, got some video and got comfortable (and it’s very comfortable).

As I was about to get out, I saw no handles to open the door with — only various buttons I couldn’t identify, many of them low on the door so I couldn’t read them anyway. I asked someone outside to open the door for me, and they tried, but it was locked.

I started to wonder if I was trapped, when I noticed one button had a small lit LED. I pushed it and it went out, and the button next to it then lit its LED. I asked the guy outside to try again, and it opened.

Car manufacturers, handles work perfectly well. The Fiat 500e, even though it’s a #BEV so it should inherently have really stupid features like Teslas and Volvos and KIAs have, has buttons on the inside unfortunately, but it’s easy to find.
