still valid a decade later #sydneyWeatherTooting #Kudelka now @scream do your thing pls taHi there, I was diagnosed with glioblastoma in February 2024. The treatment of glioblastoma hasn't changed in 20 years and but there have been a few promising leads, and I was very much hoping for a breakthrough when my mother was dying of it. Ironically, I studied biochemistry in the early 1990s but took up cartooning as there was very little opportunity to conduct research in Tasmania and for various reasons I needed to make a living back in the day. Since that time, The Menzies Centre has produced some groundbreaking work in medical research, including rare cancers like glioblastoma, which is currently a death sentence and breast cancer, strokes, neurodegenerative diseases and heart disease, all of which are not good things to have. I am trying to fundraise $15000 to help the Menzies Institute provide funds to encourage young scientists to stay in Tasmania and follow through on their ideas. While $15000 won't build anyone a new stadium, it should help further research into all these blights on sufferers of these sorts of maladies and at least help prevent a few tragedies. I was doing quite well and was considering running to the pinnacle until recently the tumour popped up in another part of my head and the various treatments have, while keeping me alive, taken my conditioning back to the point where walking will be challenge enough. There are some extraordinary people in The Even Looser Quolls who will help me stagger to the top, even if we are just doing the walking part. Please help me by making a donation through my page. It only takes a minute and any money you can give (no matter how large or small) will go a long way to helping me reach my target. Thank you, I really appreciate your support and it would be lovely to be able to increase my goal. Jon
