Il Tempo: Caccia Nato abbatte droni ucraini sull'Estonia. Kiev chiede scusa

Un caccia della Nato ha abbattuto un drone ucraino nei cieli dell'Estonia.Il velivolo senza pilota è stato intercettato sopra il lago Vörtsjärv. Il ministro della Difesa estone Hanno Pevkur ha confermato la notizia, sostenendo che molto probabilmente si trattava di un drone ucraino, puntato verso obiettivi nella Russia nord-occidentale ma deviato nella direzione sbagliata.  Questa teoria è stata confermata anche dal presidente della commissione per gli affari esteri del parlamento estone, Marko Mihkelson . La premier del paese baltico Kristen Michal ha sottolineato che l'abbattimento dimostra "che siamo ancora in grado di gestire la situazione". Non sono state segnalate vittime civili né danni. Intorno a mezzogiorno ora locale, sia l'Estonia che la Lettonia hanno emesso avvisi di presenza di droni in alcune parti dei rispettivi territori. L'alleanza Atlantica sta indagando sull'incidente e ha fatto sapere di essere "pronta" a reagire a qualsiasi minaccia. Il portavoce del ministero degli Esteri ucraino Heorhii Tykhyi ha accusato la Russia di "utilizzare la guerra elettronica" per disturbare e reindirizzare i droni ucraini verso i Paesi baltici. Poi ha chiesto scusa all'Estonia.

A NATO fighter jet shot down a Ukrainian drone in the skies of Estonia. The unmanned aircraft was intercepted above Vörtsjärv Lake. Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur confirmed the news, stating that it was most likely a Ukrainian drone, aimed at targets in northwestern Russia but diverted into the wrong direction. This theory was also confirmed by Marko Mihkelson, the chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Estonian parliament. Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal emphasized that the downing demonstrates “that we are still able to manage the situation.” There were no civilian casualties or damage reported. Around noon local time, both Estonia and Latvia issued drone presence alerts in certain parts of their respective territories. The Atlantic Alliance is investigating the incident and has stated it is “ready” to respond to any threat. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi accused Russia of “using electronic warfare” to disrupt and redirect Ukrainian drones towards the Baltic States. He then apologized to Estonia.
