For those who have not heard, 12 tons of #KitKats were stolen in Europe. We don't REALLY have enough KitKats to send to every DRP rescuer for every rescued dataset...but maybe we do, who knows. [posted while eating an undisclosed chocolate bar]

Massive KitKat Theft: Truck with 400,000 Bars Vanishes. Nestlé: “Risk of Shortages in Stores”

Easter and chocolate, as you know, go hand in hand. But for KitKat lovers who perhaps planned a large binge during the holidays, there could be a nasty surprise. A shipment of 12 tons of KitKats was actually stolen during transport, with the real risk of creating shortages in stores just before Easter. This was announced by Nestlé, the owner of the KitKat brand, explaining that the truck was carrying over 400,000 units of a new product line. The theft occurred a few days ago along an European stretch: the vehicle had left a factory in central Italy and was headed to Poland.

The company spokesperson’s comment:
“We’ve always encouraged people to take a break with KitKat, but this time the thieves took the message too literally,” an company spokesperson commented with irony. At the time of the theft, the truck and the entire cargo are missing and have not yet been located. Investigations are ongoing, in collaboration with local authorities and logistics chain partners.

The company does not rule out that the stolen goods may end up on unofficial sales channels in several European countries. Meanwhile, it warns: the removal of such a large quantity could have repercussions on product availability on shelves in the coming weeks, precisely during the period of greatest consumption. To counter the spread of the stolen load, Nestlé has recalled that each package is traceable thanks to unique identification codes, which allow you to trace the origin of the batch and report any anomalies.

Apparently Jonathan highly recommends Gingerbread flavoured Kitkats.

I still recommend the Mocha ones, as I've not tried the others =)

Can barely unwrap them they're so tiny.
@winterknell My yardstick is the price of #kitkats And it's depressing. But if coffee's increasing that much then yes, it may well be back to peppermint tea, like when I gave up coffee for a year (spoiler: it made shit all difference to my mood, energy etc).
