Produced by the legendary #KingFeaturesSyndicate, the strip ran six days a week across thirty installments. The 754-page #novel was condensed to 12,500 words, with #HowardRoark’s courtroom speech cut by almost 90% by Rand herself to occupy installment #28.

#JohnCelardo (1918-2012) was #BOTD
Probably best remembered as the #illustrator of the #Tarzan newspaper strip from 1954-1968, which incidentally was banned by the 'Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons' of then-West Germany, who allegedly insulted him by stating that he had a "degenerate imagination"! He finished his long and varied career as a comics editor at #KingFeaturesSyndicate .
