Last week's unnecessary door kick-in warrants for *checks notes* postering an Indigo bookstore, really ought to be getting people asking: who is signing off on these warrants and why?

These people absolutely could have been phoned and told to show up at the station, but where would the drama be in that? How would that justify their overinflated budget?

Search warrants are commonly used by Toronto police, one legal expert said. The practice, however, is controversial and there’s little transparency on how they’re conducted — and how often they go wrong.

Rich people leveraging their judge-friends to buy revenge is clearly a problem that needs to be looked into.

This JP signed off on KICKING PEOPLE'S DOORS IN, ON BAD INTEL. And the rate off this shit is increasing.

“A warrant to search will only be issued if the author can demonstrate that there are reasonable grounds to believe that the suspect or evidence is associated with that address. There are occasions where this information is determined to be inaccurate, but not necessarily because officers failed to do their due diligence,” the spokesperson said.

“It is an unintended outcome that could understandably be upsetting for residents who are not associated with the investigation.❞

It's not just the cops who are problematic in this dynamic.

Now the whole truth will be hidden and they can play like they won.

Wish they would have included the provision that they had to 'fire' a whole list of people too.

Garland gaslighted us all when he said he would “apply the law without fear or favour”.

If you or I stole top secret documents, would we get a special master? A special council? Would we still be free 2 years after the crime?

Would we be allowed to continue doing the crime???
