Junited 2026 - Forkingmad

Welcome to my Digital Home and Garden. As you wander through my home, I will be chatting about anything, and everything, including life; technology; food. Warning, may contain observational humour.

Anna E. Cook wrote a great article Designing with Mustard about design tools, prototyping, generative AI and why the process is the important part rather than just the output artifacts.

Designing with Mustard — Anna E. Cook

Designing with mustard is the future of design. I used to think it was ketchup, but I was wrong. If you're not currently designing with mustard, you should get out of design and tech. The future of design is mustard. Adapt or perish.

Privacy Tool Recommendations Should Come with Caveats

While some privacy-first software tools are on par with their mainstream counterparts and can be recommended without reserve, others should come with a few warnings for new users.

Welcome to The Privacy Dad's Blog!

I decided to go ahead and start a #junited post: https://laze.net/2026/06/03/junited.html

(Thanks to @robert for keeping this rolling.)

Following Robert Birming’s lead, for the month of June I’ll be maintaining a list of posts that I’ve enjoyed. I’m shooting to have a list of 30 by the end of the month, but they may not match one-to-one for the day that I find them. I’m also going to try and share a variety of writers and topics. They may be new, or a bit older. The idea here is just to share the indieweb/personal web and all the variety it still has.

Decided to give #Junited2026 a go - trying to get in the habit of sharing cool blog posts I found on my own blog. Here's a list of 10 cool things I recently have dug (but I'll prolly add to it)

The Internet Needs More Cross-Pollinators

So, my silly little fanfic project blew up like crazy and received some really negative feedback. And I think I understand why. Exploring the concept of boundary spanning and cross-pollination in online communities. Drawing on organizational theory and the work of Michael Tushman. We need people who move between different online subcultures to seed ideas and build bridges.
