Tomorrow, I'm running the Poplar Spring 5k for the 23rd time to support Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary, a fantastic place where they rescue abandoned, neglected, and abused farm animals. If you'd like to throw a few bucks their way by sponsoring me, they (and I) would very much appreciate it!

This morning on the ol' turntable: "60 French Girls Can't Be Wrong" by Les Djinns Singers, a group of 13-16 year-olds that are entirely too talented (one dude does make his way into the mix). Recorded in 1960. Purchased for $2 from The Record Exchange in Frederick, MD.

A second volume was later released.

I was doing some genealogical research and came across this item right below one that I was reading from a Public Notices section of an 1884 newspaper:

'Newspaper Finder doesn’t host any newspapers itself. Rather, it serves as a convenient, easy-to-use, place-based index to newspapers held by other databases.'

Chicago Bowling Alleys 1947

I can't even remember how I got started on this "project", but I may have had the idle thought "I bet there were a lot of bowling alleys in Chicago in the late 1940s".

Just added a bunch of capsule reviews going back to 1997 to the kinda massive album log page on my site - over 1600 and still going. https://laze.net/media/music/album-log/

I recently decided to start taking short notes on albums as I listen to them. Nothing too in depth, just enough to remind me of what I felt/heard/thought while listening. For fun, I also imported: over 1500 of my capsule reviews from my former 20-words-or-less ADDreviews site, written from 2001-2009. I tended to be a little more snarky then, so my opinions of 17-25 years ago may not be the same as they are today.

It already exists on the IA, but I added a new totally over-the-top 1200 dpi scan of the 1988 Epyx Product Catalog. So many great memories of the programs therein.

My company’s new health plan covers an online personal trainer, so for the first time, I’m giving it a shot. For all the running I’ve done over the last bunch of years, I’ve neglected any strength training and done only very little flexibility or balance work. I’m at that age where I need to break that streak and prep this bag of bones for the next stages of life. In other news, I’ve been enjoying two limited edition Waterloo flavors currently available: Root Beer and Apple Pie a la Mode.

Question that keeps me up at night:

Would Alex P. Keaton support Trump the way he did Nixon?
