Hard no, and I don’t know any reporters who would permit it; but it is requested often enough that there is evidently a widespread belief that it is a normal practice.

Our local sheriff-elect was genuinely surprised when I said no to this request recently (and he turned down an interview request because of it).

Continuing that slow drip of stuff I wrote this year...

The anti-corporate/anti-globalization facets I glimpsed in researching the anti-apartheid movement are something that I wish I'd had more time to work with. I analyzed them in a journal article I wrote on corporate codes of conduct in South Africa, but then I was able to offer a summary of that for Jacobin earlier this year.

Continuing the slow rollout of my #publications from this year, this one from the Los Angeles Times was about #divestment during the anti-#apartheid movement and its significance today. I wrote it because there are a lot of misconceptions in the public sphere about it.

I think it mostly got traction because Bill McKibben liked it (unsurprisingly, we seem to agree with each other on these issues) and gave me a little boost back on #twitter.

This was a profile I wrote of NAICCO's food truck in Columbus, #Ohio. I wanted to understand how food helps us to understand the lived reality of many indigenous peoples in the U.S.: most live in urban, intertribal settings. The food NAICCO serves highlights that.
