This isn't the first book on #birds I've read from her, and I really connect to her sense of their wonder and beauty. She also has a knack of finding scientists and amateur owl enthusiasts with interesting and sometimes moving personal stories. #bookstodon @bookstodon #ornithology

#FinishedReading this wonderful popular overview of the scientific understanding of bird behaviour by #JenniferAckerman . I was particularly fascinated by the stories of raptors in northern Australia carrying burning wood from bushfires to start their own fires to flush out prey. Also great to see so many #ANU scientists (Jessica McLachlan, Robert Heinsohn, Naomi Langmore) take star turns. #birds #ornithology #bookstodon
