How much should you worry about a collapse of the Atlantic conveyor belt?

Also note : Some of us are actively looking at the same problem from another context -What will it take to keep #AMOC where it is now? It’s an approach that forward biases pole meltwater and methane as accelerants. Not pretty in the short term
It's not just your imagination, tropical cyclones have been getting worse.

What should you do to prepare for the climate change storm?
Do you stand your ground or seek out a climate haven? Some resources to help you decide.
Jeff Masters: "…before you pack your bags, first make sure you understand the expected consequences of climate change where you live now. Do those risks outweigh the cost of leaving behind friends, neighbors, family, and professional contacts?"

"Residents in evacuation areas should heed evacuation orders quickly. Idalia is expected to accelerate its forward speed, so landfall & conditions will rapidly deteriorate beginning late Tuesday morning in[to] the afternoon across the warned areas in Florida."
"…Idalia (or its remnants) could linger along the SE U.S. coast through the weekend…"
#Idalia discussion from #JeffMasters & #BobHenson
Lotsa good info from #BobHenson & #JeffMasters re #Idalia – compares to "The most recent hurricane to hit the Big Bend region of Florida was Hurricane Hermine, which hit just east of St. Marks as a Category 1 hurricane with 80 mph winds…" whose "highest measured storm surge was 7.5 ft above normal tide levels at Cedar Key, which lay about 100 miles to the east of Hermine’s path." Notes full moon Wed. night; high tide at #CedarKey Wed.1:45pm EDT https://yaleclimateconnections.org/2023/08/tropical-storm-idalia-soon-to-enter-gulf-and-intensify/
