Far from just being a fluff piece that reminisces on the glory days of the birth of Java, it is crystal clear that M. Gosling is all out of fucks to give when it comes to mincing words or appeasing corporate overlords.
This makes for such a refreshing read about the state of the whole industry, well worth your time even if you don't particularly care about Java.
Here's a small taste:
[Gosling] dismissed claims by tech executives like Mark Zuckerberg and Marc Benioff that AI will reduce the need for engineers as โentirely self-serving horseshit,โ seeing such statements as positioning tactics and thinly veiled threats to extract more work from employees.
