Ahed Tamimi was born #OTD in Palestine in 2001. As a teenager, she became famous through videos in which she and her mother slapped and shoved Israeli soldiers who had shot her cousin in the head with a rubber bullet in her own home. After serving jail time, Tamimi went on to co-write a book detailing the Palestinian condition, which you can buy here:
