I don’t hate bluegrass. I don’t love it but there is some I appreciate and like. And obviously I like jam. I even think Billy does some incredible psychedelic shit. But every time I try to listen/watch a full set, the whiplash between the jam and tradition kills me. It’s like a second set that goes Tweezer > My Old Home Place > Ghost > Ginseng Sullivan > Bowie > Uncle Pen, and it’s jarring as fuck.
