Hello #Moon

Lot of competition for the most gob-smacking decisions in the OceanGate saga, but the fact they used a grinder to make the sub round when their carbon fiber layup wasn't smooth enough is certainly a contender. Maybe they believed they could cut X percent of the fibers and still have enough margin, but there doesn't appear to be any evidence they did any calculation to that effect

All that said, in this age of AI scrapers, it would be kinda hilarious implement a #ClickFix style thing that was really a bot defense and not malware 🤔
Also Google's new "hand gesture verification" is an enormous step in the wrong direction. Even if you trust google not to do anything bad with the data, it seems invertible that bad actors will come up with lookalikes that do, and normalizing granting random device permissions certainly won't end well https://docs.cloud.google.com/recaptcha/docs/hand-gesture-verification

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@ifin/116782646682001476

Feel like years of real captchas teaching users it's normal for a site to require them to perform incomprehensible stupid human tricks hasn't helped this situation. Not that they were a bad idea or that it was wrong to use them, they were very useful for many years…

Cloudflare has a new "Temporary CF Accounts for AI agents" thing where coding bots can pseudo-anonymously deploy web content to CF for 60m until expiry.

https://blog.cloudflare.com/temporary-accounts/

An automated pipeline could continuously provision new temp Workers, register each endpoint w/a C2 framework, rotate, & let the previous one expire — no account overhead, no billing trail, no claimed infrastructure to seize.

Blocking *.workers.dev at the enterprise perimeter is a significant collateral damage problem.

Temporary Cloudflare Accounts for AI agents

The moment an agent needs to deploy something, it slams face-first into a wall built for humans. Today we're rolling out Temporary Accounts on Cloudflare Workers. Any agent can now run wrangler deploy — temporary and get a live Worker in seconds.

One upside of the long stretch of hot & humid weather we're at the start of is the chance of an occasional thunderstorm 🥵☈

And nature didn't disappoint last night, as the skies spat, crackled, & rumbled over the Neckar valley ⛈️

@mpi_astro lies atop the Königstuhl pretty much where that main strike seems to be hitting 😬✌️
