several years ago i dumped my #netflix [🇺🇸] sub, once i realised their enduring support for #transphobia & #homophobia. that was before the inanity of their later deployment of ads... i mean, ffs, the very idea of paying for ads, jfc.

Two things I learnt recently about the ABC that saddens me:

1. They killed the iview app
2. I can no longer Chromecast from the ABC listen app.

ABC has a documentary about the art fraudster Inigo Philbrick, and it's beautifully pieced together with snippets of interviews from the main characters (and there's plenty of Main Characters). Highly entertaining. Like other docos about the high dollar art dealing world it pulls back the curtain on some really shifty business, and there's none shifter than Inigo's.

It may well have been an attempt by the fraudster and his girlfriend to soften his image. But I reckon you'd have to not be paying attention for that to work. The interview cuts are perfect, playing one person's perspective against another's.

If you have an interest in true fraud stories, it's well worth the time.

And if you still have the original discs and media, you can then connect those imported catalogs to their actual volumes, and update them using their original files - in order to add thumbnails and a lot more data to them that the import can not supply.

with abeMeda 7.8.7 we have now established much better access to the stored data in our catalogs, mainly the stored previews. With the hugely enhanced Photo Export you can now make use of the generated previews, even if the original files may not (or no longer) be available.
And you can of course not only export and convert photos, but many more media files (like videos, audio files' cover art, PDFs, books [ePub] or comics [CBR|CBZ], ...) - any files' previews can also be exported now.
This can be useful if an external storage is temporarily out of reach, or even extremely helpful to salvage files after a data loss, when you have only your catalogs left.

Really enjoyed the first two seasons of Professor T. Yes, he's another pompous always-right smarter-than-the-cops investigator, but there's actual character and introspection. By the end of season two, relationships have changed a lot from where the show began.

Easy watch, entertaining. Not too aggravating. 👍
